Message from the President
February 25, 2022
Dear Campus Community:
The scenes of destruction and of people fleeing their homes in the sovereign nation of Ukraine鈥攏ow under attack by Russia, are sad and disturbing. Just as we are beginning to emerge from the physical and emotional weight of a two-year global pandemic, these images can spark further anxiety and concern for people who are suffering.
As members of the greater maritime community, we feel for our sister institution in Ukraine, Odessa National Maritime University, to whom we have reached out to offer support and assistance. Mariners at sea may be affected, and our armed services partners, whom we also support, may be in harm鈥檚 way. We stand with all individuals, countries, and institutions around the world who fight for democratic ideals. I have confidence that leaders around the world are responding to these issues with the resolve, unity, and decisiveness they deserve. At this grave moment, we stand with the people of Ukraine.
For anyone personally affected in this challenging and uncertain moment, I urge you to reach out to others and utilize campus support services.
In service, TC
Thomas A. Cropper
President
