The Follow the Adventure Blog is now live!

Follow the adventure and see Cal Maritime's 2023 International Experience program through the eyes of our cadets, faculty, and staff studying abroad this summer. Readers will get an opportunity to experience Cal Maritime鈥檚 global awareness mission in action.

"Our shoreside students are venturing beyond the borders and norms of their usual lives. Seeing and making meaning of the world is one of the original reasons sailors went to sea鈥搕oday鈥檚 maritime undergraduates show that boarding a ship is just one way to do it.

This year, our students are helping preserve and strengthen coral reefs with Oceanography professor Alex Parker in Roatan, Honduras. IBL professor Khalid Bachkar is providing his students with an all-access pass to his home country of Morocco, and Culture & Communications professor Julie Chisholm is covering over 1000 miles of European riverways, walking in the paths of the Romans, Ottomans and Habsburgs. Who knows, maybe some of our students will return to Rabat for an internship, or to Rotterdam for a graduate degree, or fall in love in Roatan? Let鈥檚 hope they return home with new dreams and a slightly changed perspective on what it means to be from the USA."
