We started our last day in Fez with a tour of the Bou Inania Madrasa located inside of the Fez Medina. Similar to the Madrasas we learned about in Rabat, we learned about the histories of the teachings and the students who once lived and received their education from the Bou Inania Madrasa.

Our 2nd stop of the day was to a local pottery shop. Mosaics and clay pots play major roles in Moroccan culture. We were able to see how the famous Moroccan clay pots and mosaic tiles are created and sculpted in another region of Morocco. In Fez, they are known for their smooth gray clay mixture, giving a unique style to their pottery creations in comparison to other clay and pottery designs. And of course, we ended our visit with some shopping at the shop鈥檚 retail store, picking up beautifully designed pieces for our family and friends.

We rested for the remainder of the day to prepare for our long ride to the Sahara Desert tomorrow along with our quick 1-day hops coming up next week! Week 2 in Morocco is almost done!
