We are about halfway to Hawaii. Everyone is looking forward to sailing around the islands. We are all glad to be underway with great weather.

On deck the cadets were seen practicing with mooring lines. The process can be time consuming to get right, but it is important to know and do correctly. Some were seen practicing heaving smaller lines, these lines would be thrown to shore and used to assist bringing the heavy mooring lines ashore.

Up in the bridge the cadets were busy ensuring we were on course. It looks stressful on the helm since you are in control of the movements of the vessel. Some of the cadets on the helm have difficulty at first but slowly get the hang of it.

As we sail into the sunset, we are excited to see what tomorrow brings us. We have been met with fair weather and beautiful seas, at night the moonlight lights up the ocean and is the brightest thing in the sky.
