Ahoy!

Today, as we continue to prepare ourselves for our voyage, we had the honor of hosting the
US Coast Guard for a thorough inspection of both our vessel and our cadets.
Our morning began with preparing to launch our lifeboats. A select group of cadets and crew
worked together to run lifeboats one and three. We were able to demonstrate our ability to
swiftly access and utilize these life-saving vessels, showcasing our commitment to safety above
all else.

Thumbs up!

As the lifeboats and Fast Rescue Boat underwent testing, cadets were hard at work across the ship. From the engine
room to the deck, there was no shortage of tasks to be completed. Our engineers, in particular,
were busy securing the ship for our upcoming journey, taking inventory of spare parts and
ensuring that everything is in ship shape condition.

Our Marine Engineer of the Day team has been crunching numbers to calculate our daily fuel
consumption. With each passing day, we edge closer to bunkering, the process of replenishing
our fuel supply from shore. It's a meticulous operation, requiring careful planning and
coordination, but our cadets are more than up for the task.

One thing about Summer Sea Term that is so special is the camaraderie on board the ship.
Every cadet works hard to lend a hand in order to make sure that everyone feels at home.
Whether it's helping a shipmate settle into their quarters or fixing their light, teamwork is the
cornerstone of life aboard Training Ship Golden Bear.

Camaraderie!

Of course, it's not all work and no play. Today, we had the pleasure of loading up on snacks and
drinks, ready to be enjoyed at our very own Pirates Cove. From Gatorade to soda, from chips to
candy, our shelves are stocked with all the essentials for a mid-voyage pick-me-up. After a long
day's work, there's nothing quite like kicking back on deck, enjoying a snack, and soaking in the
ocean breeze.

As the sun sets on another productive day, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement
for the adventures that lie ahead. So batten down the hatches, my friends, for the journey of a
lifetime awaits us aboard T.S. Golden Bear. Fair winds and following seas!
