Cost of Attendance Overview

The Cost of Attendance (COA) is what we estimate it will cost to attend Cal Maritime for the academic year. The COA includes tuition and fees, food and housing, books and supplies, transportation, personal and miscellaneous expenses. The only "direct billed" costs (items that the campus will charge you for directly) are tuition and fees, food and housing (if living on campus), and the Opt-In Corps of Cadets uniform (if applicable). Other expenses, such as books and supplies, travel and miscellaneous expenses, and off-campus food and housing are an estimate and your actual costs may be higher or lower than what we estimate.

A full, detailed and current Fee Schedule to all campus charges can be found here.

Fees Subject to Change

The ÌìÃÀÊÓƵ University (CSU) makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after fees are initially charged or initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees. All listed fees, other than mandatory systemwide fees, are subject to change without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, or the Presidents, as appropriate. Changes in mandatory systemwide fees will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Working Families Student Fee Transparency and Accountability Act (Sections 66028 - 66028.6 of the Education Code).

AB-990 & SB-467

Summer Sea Term

Enrollment during the Summer Term are subject to tuition and fees + program fees detailed in the Schedule of Fees.

Financial aid may be available for qualifying students to help with the costs associated with enrollment in those programs, and Summer financial aid awarding will be done after the student registers for Summer classes.

Summer Aid

Summer Sea Term is considered the last term of the academic year for financial aid purposes. Aid eligibility will be based off the 2023-2024 FAFSA or CADAA application. The aid options will typically consist of any aid that was not exhausted during the academic year. Summer aid will automatically be determined once students enroll for summer term, a separate application is not required.

To be considered for financial aid during the summer, students must meet basic eligibility requirements. However, other factors such as FAFSA data and availability of funds will contribute to a student's eligibility and amount awarded.

  1. Have a 2023-2024 FAFSA or CADAA on file with Cal Maritime (school code 001134)
  2. Enroll in at least 6 undergraduate units
