Steam Simulation
The Steam Simulator provides a realistic engine room setting (with sound and heat) for simulation of all aspects of high-pressure steam plant operations, including all auxiliary equipment. Students utilize a variety of control consoles and real-world equipment in learning to manage all manner of casualties to the 鈥渧essel,鈥� as well as conducting coordinated system training at various levels of experience. Various shipping companies also use the Simulator in their own training programs. All Undergraduate Engineering students spend approximately 100 hours in the simulator.
